Asus PadFone gets more official.

Article by on Tuesday, 31 January 2012

The Smartphone tablet hybrid was in attendance at CES in Vegas a few weeks ago and is set to appear at MWC next month. This isn’t really news, it’s expected, but we’re excited that it’s becoming more official.

The Asus PadFone is a 4.3in smartphone and a 10.1in tablet shell, similar to the concept released badly by Motorola with the Atrix.

The tablet itself is really just a display adapter, it doesn’t have it’s own heart, there’s no cpu or storage, but there is additional power.

There’s talk of a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, but most suggest it’ll be a SnapDragon S4. It should be ICS, but I think on the safe side we’ll be expecting GB with a quick upgrade as and when.

February 27 is when the Mobile World Congress kicks off.
